I have a canon 7d mk ll with a tamron 150-600 g2 which gives my a range of 240-960, if i put on the 1.4x converter will it auto focus?

Many of our cameras will not autofocus after F8 and typically some AF points will be lost if they do.

There is a big difference between auto focusing - eventually and mostly inaccurately (intolerable) and proper AF where the speed and accuracy are tolerable.

Yes it will AF with spot focusing. But if the light is not bright it will hunt and have trouble locking focus. But you will NEED the Tamron matched 1.4X TC (TC 1401) to do so.
