The EXIF data on the 1st image says that an 80-400mm lens was used which is why I asked......

I checked the Exif data for that image and you are correct. I t does say 80-400 mm lens and also that the setting was auto. I don't own that lens and I never shoot in auto. I have no explanation for the EXIF data. The most plausible explanation is that the photo is not mine, but I assure you it is. At least I now understand your question. Thanks Scott.

About twenty-five years ago, one of the bison in Yellowstone Park fell into one of the hot pools just off the road to Old Faithful from West Yellowstone. The bison couldn't get back out fast enough and died. The aroma of beef stew permeated that part of Yellowstone for about a month until the carcass eventually dissolved in the hot pot.
What scott was saying, and I agree. We have seen some very similar captures, almost identical.
