Beware of Friend Requests

I'm sure you get the occasional Friend request on Facebook from an attractive young woman. She's probably foreign and has a basically blank FB page. I got one the other day from "Carol," and I declined. Today, I got a request from an old friend whom I friended on FB a long time ago. Clicking on his name, up popped Carol again. So, before you accept a request from an actual acquaintance of yours, make sure the request is actually coming from your friend.

Sometimes you even get a request from a "friend".
Their name/images were copied, spoofed, a mostly empty page.
If I get these, I always message my ORIGINAL friend to see if they created a new page.
I think they get the pages to spoof from people pages who's friends list is public...

I have the perfect solution. Don't bother with facebook. Yeah, you may not know where your friend had dinner last night....but do you really care?

Ditto the no facebook. Never have, don't plan on ever using it. I call my friends on the phone if I want to talk to them. Or we visit. It's really tough but we manage.

Ditto NO FACEBOOK - have seen too much false news and too much family squabbles over silly little things

What I usually do with FB is look at pictures friends have posted.

I do FB with family and close friends.
Works great for keeping in contact.
And look at pics posted in some groups.

Don't do FB or any other social sites. Don't have time for that stuff.
I don't care about what everyone else is doing.

I use FB to connect with “f&f” I don’t get to see very often. As for the rest of it, I treat it just like I treat UHH: if sonething interests me I check it out; if not I move on.

I joined Facebook to get information on my 50th High school reunion because thats the only way things are done today.
I never realized how many young, beautiful, attractive women friends I had!!!
The final draw was seeing the name of some of my High school buddies attached to these young girls photos.
As soon as I was done with the reunion I was done with Facebook.

Facebook wasn't around at the time of my 60th HS reunion. I registered, went to the meet up and found all my friends were dead or no shows. The rest were all old people whom I barely recognized. I did get a nice portrait by the photographer, but didn't attend the dinner (that I had paid for). I keep in touch with a few college friends by email only. Went to a 50th college reunion but only recognized a few (from other studies than mine). All the girls that I had the hots for (back then) were married, fat and not nearly as good looking as remembered. Then again, they likely thought the same about me. Insipid Facebook? NO!

Good idea. I've had probably about 10 of these in the past. I don't like to clutter up my list of FB friends with people that I really don't know anyway. I have a few, but not many, and the only reason I allowed the friend request was because they were mutual friends of a fellow photographer or offroader or something like that.
