There is Tamron 18-400 for Nikon and Canon. I do have the 16-300 for Sony but I would like to have the 18-400.
What happened with Sony?
Any advise?

It should be - what happened with Tamron ?? If we are talking about the E-mount, the Sigma MC11 adapter is supposed to work with the Canon mount version of the Tamron - but I do not speak from experience. If we are talking about the A-mount, there is no solution, except to petition Tamron .

Owning some Sony a-mount bodies (and a lot of lenses) I started building my Nikon kit/collection due to the disappearing choices of newer lens technology for the A-mount system. Would love to see some newer lenses (the 18-400 is a prime example) for A-mount, but it doesn't look promising.

Yes, all my life I have only Sony bodies and lenses. Lately I bought the Mirrorless Alpha 6000. But it does not look that it will be more lenses for the E mount either. It is a shame that I have to leave Sony and look for something else.
Thank you all for your response.

Lots of Sony lenses coming both in FF & APS-C including third party. Tampons new FF 28-75 E-Mount has awesome ratings.

Didn’t they just announce that they would be coming out with a bunch of lenses this year? Along with an upgrade to the a6500.

I'd personally like to see some a-mount lenses on sale. I have an a77 (thinking about an a77ii or a99 upgrade) but it seems like the only lenses ever on sale for the last year or two have been e-mount. I really don't want to have to buy an e-mount body and an adapter, but I'd rather not pay full price for a new piece of glass either (would like a 70-400g2, like the one I rented last year for my almost-annual trip to Oshkosh (week-long aviation convention).

It's tough, new lenses in A-mount appear less and less and never seem to be on sale. Heard a rumor about new A-mount body, and maybe some lenses, but not sure how that is looking. I see B&H has the Sony 70-400mm f/4-5.6 G SSM II still at approx. $2200, and they do have a used one for around$1750, but that is still a lot of $$, would be great to find a used one at a nicer price, wouldn't it? Good luck in your quest.
