Both are beautiful images but the first one with the fence offers the viewer a reference leading to the mountains. The image seems to me to be better balanced in its visual design.

I prefer #1, #2 seems unbalanced and even though it might be level seems to slide right, at least to me.

While the fence does lead our view into the scene, the photo without the fence seems to give more of a feeling of vastness to much the same view. Regardless, the view is nice.

I think they are both very good. If I had to select one, my choice would be the one with the fence.
