I have gone through this a number of times. It is never easy because of the special, and reciprocal relationship we have with them. I cherish the memories of all my past furry companions, as I'm sure you do as well.

I agree, never easy to do...I am thankful for the photo's I have to help me remember his light!

So sorry for your loss. We dog lovers have to go through this too many times since our lifespan is so much longer than them.

So very sorry - losing a pet, especially after having it for such a long time, always leaves a hole in your heart.

I lost two collies and a sheltie. They were my children and I have never got over losing them. I have another collie he is a dream also. Sorry about your loss I know what pain you feel in your heart.

I am so sorry for your loss. They never stay with us long enough. I'll bet there is another fur baby out there that is just waiting to find you.

Our sweet 17 year old pup took a turn for the worse on the 20th, we had to let him go (one of the hardest things I have ever done). We stayed with him his last hour singing to him and soothing him until he was gone, it was the least we could do considering all the love he heaped on us! He was a true joy, a spirit of love and loyalty....we were truly blessed! <3

I enjoyed the loving tribute to your faithful little friend.

Sorry for your loss. Our beloved pets are truly family members (and, more often than not, our favorite family members).

I'm so sorry the end of a family member has come to you. We are faced with a similar situation. Our little girl ( Pekinese ) is now 20 years old, mostly blind and deaf and can only chew soft foods. But she still tells us when she needs to go outside to do business so we will help her as long as she's not in pain. Just as you, she has become one of our children.
