Criticism aside, it's a beautiful shot.

Great shot!! Keep on posting.
I haven’t posted a pic on here yet or inquired about something where I didn’t get someone’s off handed remark.
Just developed a harder turtle shell by being here.

Thanks for looking! I'm pretty thick skinned after having lectured 800 to 1200 college students in one class for over 20 years (doing the REAL teaching when small groups of students would visit my lab to ask questions). In this particular instance re the bluebirds, I, myself, likely would have commented re the possibility of birds eating the plastic berries, although most likely it would have involved young, immature birds. Sincerely appreciate your "dead on" comments, however!

That HAS been on my mind. Sure wish I could get a photo of a Kingfisher as well done as yours!

My wife placed a Christmas basket full of artificial flowers and berries in a hanging basket outside the kitchen window to help brighten up winter days. While eating lunch a day or so ago, a flock of 7 bluebirds ganged up on the basket hoping for an easy lunch. Fortunately the camera/tripod was adjacent to the patio doors so I quickly snapped off a shot of the affair. Am a tad reluctant to post this pic due to being criticized (correctly so!) re the potential of wild birds being affected by plastic--we all know the stories of fishing lines tangling up waterfowl and the senseless damage done to other wildlife due to these kinds of thoughtless acts. As a retired biologist, I am well aware of such and am as critical as any conservationist re these problems. In this instance, I can assure you that no critters were harmed, and the birds immediately discovered the deception and quickly flew off. The hanging basket of plastic flowers and berries were immediately removed from the post. The criticism might be that this represents an extreme method of baiting!! Still, I think it makes an interesting (to me) photo, so make of it what you wish. I feel that everyone deserves a basket full of bluebirds once in their lifetime (and we learned a lesson)!! Also, Happy New Year!

A beautiful capture, ottercreek. I'm wondering why you didn't hang a sock full of seed on that pretty hanging basket. Happy shooting in 2019!!!

You might wish to check out my other postings of "backyard birds". I feed 'em plenty! These bluebirds will now hang around my suet and sunflower feeders until April, at least. I try to set feeders up so the shots will look a bit more natural. I really was caught off guard the way the red berries brought the birds in! Thanks for looking, and appreciate your comments!

Luck, and holding one's mouth right does seem to help, at least in my case!
