I keep a printed family photo album, using collages created in Photoshop Elements. Until a few days ago, I was using PSE 11. I figured it was time to update, and purchased PSE 19.
In PSE 11, the frame and mask are not shown separately from the photo in the layers panel, and when you change size or proportion of the photo, the mask and frame change without any separate action. The arrangement could always be changed from the tool options at the bottom of the edit screen, from the layers>arrange tab, and from the right click menu.
in PSE 19, the photo, mask, and frame are each shown as a separate layer, and apparently must be linked to get them to adjust simultaneously. I have trouble getting them to stay linked - they seem to unlink for any reason and no reason. In addition, I can no longer arrange photos with the arrange tool or the right click menu. The arrange tool seems to remain greyed out no matter what I do, and the right click does not offer the arrange option. I can only use the layers>arrange tab, and doing so seems really convoluted.
I'm hoping I just missed some critical process change by waiting so many years to update to the newer version, but despite hunting through the PSE help section, and some kind help from someone in the adobe community forum, I'm still frustrated by how difficult it seems to do in PSE 19 what I did so easily in PSE 11. Have any of you got any suggestions?
Thanks, Bill. Looks like a good forum for me as an elements user. Happy New Year!
