Fantastic job, Jerry! Well edited and great time-lapse sequences. I just wrote an eBook on time-lapse which is available at http://www.scribd.com/doc/99353720/Fotobug-Guide-to-Time-Lapse-Photography - it's totally free, if anyone is interested in the subject!

Actually I have about 15 - 18 medals and decorations. That is my highest. The Medal for Heroism.

Thanks

Very well done Jerry, your choice of sites to present it was excellent as well.

Thanks to all for the kind words on the time lapse project. It was actually this site that provided the motivation to begin the whole thing. I have been an avid amateur photographer for a long time (longer than I like to think) and finding a new way to show my passion for the art is like a huge breath of fresh air.

Thanks to the UHH group for the "push"!

Awesome! Thanks for sharing what had to be a labor of love to take on the amount of work that was required. It is amazing to watch.

Absolutely brilliant photography and excellent sound track. I loved it and it made me want to visit that beautiful part of the world. If I could make one suggestion, I found the fade to black between segments somewhat distracting.
You might want to try it with just cutting from scene to scene without transition. Just a thought :-D

Thanks for that. During the "put it all together" stage, I tried a lot of combinations including no transitions, as you suggest. In fact in some sequences ( fish and waterfalls) there are no transitions. In the end I chose the fade transitions because of the dissimalarities between the sequences. It just looked better to me in the end.

That is, of course, one of many of the decisions that have to be made in the production of any piece of art. For me, the hardest part was deciding on which photos and sequences made the final cut. There were many others that were very good that had to be left out...or this thing would have been 10 minutes long. :)

Excellent work Jerry!! I live in Colorado, used to own a travel agency with my ex (who still has it) and have been to Alaska 17 times. This masterpiece of yours is going to make it 18 I guess! The shots of the cruise ships leaving is awesome and, as already stated, I would think you could sell this creation to some commercial concern in Alaska. Obviously, you put a lot of thought into the conception and execution of your ideas and your attention to detail shows in every bit of the outcome! For your first try, you did an OUTSTANDING JOB so better quit now as this will be very hard to improve on (but I would love to see your attempt at your second creation!). Good luck from those of us who get the benefits from all your hard work!!
