Pg 16. Thanks for the kind comment Bob. It's much appreciated. The last one is the backside of our fishing lake dam. I'm patiently waiting for the overflow to freeze. It has created some nice ice sculptures in the past.

I anxiously await those pics of the 'ice sculptures' on the dam

p13 Sue this whole set is amazing! No.1 might be my pick for nostalgia sake. I grew up in Northeastern Ohio countryside and sights like those are etched in my memory. The covered bridges on back roads in Pennsylvania (which was only 1/4 mile down the road). Your b/w shots don't have the bridges, but they have the spirit to evoke the mental pictures. Thanks for sharing.

I did a wander around our back roads while Chuck and Sarah were out doing their annual Black Friday shopping trip - much more enjoyable than fighting traffic and crowds!

I like that one too, Pat. I have a lot to learn about photography in general, and b/w in particular. The really good ones "pop" and the shots of those of us who are just starting out kind of just sit there. Thanks for the encouraging post.

Even if you'v been at it a while - sometimes ya gets it and sometimes ya just don't.

p18 Love the converted cardinal, Pat. You are right, the raindrops make us remember that a birds and all creatures of the wild must brave the elements to go "grocery shopping" without cars or umbrellas! It is a moving reminder. Thanks.

I did take some shots today (all from inside - it snowed, it poured freezing rain and then rain. Now icy roads, fog freezing - all that stuff) The only way I could get a "camera monochrome" was to change WB to tungsten. Thought it was almost sacrilege to convert a cardinal to BW but I tried it. On download you can see a lot of detail - like raindrops on feathers, tail.

The cardinal image is a beautiful shot and love it. He does look a little forlorn as he weathers out the storm.

Thought I would try this B/W thing just for jollies. So I went out and gave it my best shot (not to put too fine a point on it) and came up with...

Glad that you tried, Avian
