Hello Everyone,
I am new to photography. Just want to learn how to take pictures of my grandkids. I currently take pics with my iPhone and
I am thinking of buying a camera to take better pictures. Looking forward to searching the site and picking up any helpful information

Keep it simple, I use my Apple iphone 6s to take great pictures of my grand kids.No need for a camera. However, try the Panasonic line of pocket cameras.

Photography can be a sink-hole for cash. Learn what is involved and how photographs are made BEFORE you buy anything! When you are comfortable with searching try Brian Peterson's "Understanding Exposure". Cameras do not take better pictures. Cameras allow the user to make photographs of any quality level the user can attain. Perhaps you live near a college that offers courses on photography, or you might find a camera club or photography club. Web sites are available that offer fairly complex courses on-line. These are tools (as are cameras) you can use that will reduce your costs up-front. Be patient before you buy, the digital world is extremely complex.

Welcome! I have gone from Rangefinder to SLR and then DSLRs, currently a full frame DSLR.
But I also take many pictures with my Samsung S7 which for many purposes are very good, and capture moments when I'm not carrying my big camera that are often very memorable..
