Is this the area they call the Palouse? I'm not sure I have the spelling right on that. I've seen some spectacular photos of the Palouse area. It almost seems like you need to increase saturation on this one. Otherwise I like the calming nature of it. Very pastoral.

Smooth and lush, Linda! My first impression was the Palouse.

You achieved your goal, Linda, and created a very appealing image. Your subtle use of PP made the image the center of attention rather than the PP which is a credit to your skill. I agree with the comment that a pano would also work well. Best wishes for a Happy New Year.

You are so making me home sick, you have done well. Is that the area South of the airport? Those hills just look way to familiar as I hiked all over the valley in my youth.

There is only about a month every year when the hills around the Yakima Valley are green. From a distance they look like velvet, and I found I needed both soft light and a gentle hand with pp to tell that story.

Feedback appreciated!

Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice. Gentle touch with the colors.

In this case, we can arrive at the opposite of WOW by spelling it backward, and it will still apply. Nice image, Linda.

Love it!

Many thanks to all who commented. I very much appreciate your time and interest + suggestions and observations!

Location: west of Toppenish, along Pumphouse Rd near Lateral C (I was facing south, standing on Lateral C, which at the southern end is part of the national wildlife refuge). I haven't been to The Palouse - if you can believe it It is a 3-hour drive and I'd need to spend at least one night to get the golden hour photos you all are familiar with.

Those foreground grasses have a hint of lavender, and combined with the varying tones of green on the hills makes for a VERY nice image. Not every image has to be an "in-your-face-colour" shot! This is really nice and peaceful. It's something you want to look at for a long time.

I really like it. I was initially prepared to not be wowed and my eye was drawn to the top but then kept wandering down finding more and more little visual treats. To my own discredit, I might not have looked at the image carefully enough to appreciate it if not for the title. I've been enjoying your work and your efforts to help out the rest of us. Keep up the good work and best wishes for the coming year.
