To elaborate on Namaste, here's a great graphic to go with it. Sawadee also used in some southeastern Asian countries as an equivalent. Both used in greeting as well as a parting gesture. Lots of Thai restaurants bear the name "Sawadee." Seems extremely polite and respectful of others.
