I have a Canon 80D camera with Sigma Lens 150-600 C Canon Mount, If i want to put a teleconverter on it , 1.4 , should it be a Canon teleconverter or a Sigma brand? it would be a 1.4 so i can keep auto focus.

Sigma, but you will see a slight degradation in image quality.

You also need to check whether or not you are restricted to a single point using auto focus if you're not using an f 2 .8 lens.

If you're only going to use it with that lens then I would definitely get the Sigma. It is specifically designed to work with their lenses.

Check with Canon also. My 80D will not play well with any extender but my Canon 1.4x III, which won't fit on the any of the 150-600 lenses, Sigma or Tamron.

Canon teleconverters are designed to work with only specific Canon lenses. They aren’t even compatible with all Canon lenses.

I would say Sigma as they build their converters to match their lenses. Should produce excellent results.
Canon converters are matched to a few specific lenses and I would not use them on other Canon or any independent party lens.
After you choose post some shots for us.
Thank you.

My experience is - if you are not using a CANON lens and CANON extender, it will not AF @ f8 period. Whether it can even physically attach is another matter.

As I say MANY times, maximize your native len's IQ and CROP and use well applied pixel enlargement software for making larger prints.

I have a Canon 2x/L extender. While is works with all my Canon /L lenses, it will not AF if the aperture is smaller than f/8. My 100-400mm f/4-5.6 will not AF on any but minimal zoom. 2x 4.anything is greater than f/8 and I am limited to manual focus. The L extenders will not attach to lenses that are not L-type
