Before I retired, they brought in a number of temps to try to replace me... We went through at least a dozen before my last day came & it still has not been filled. I'm talking college grads as well as others with varying degrees of education & experience. They have brought others from some of our other locations to help fill the gap until they find someone capable enough to do the job....Makes you wonder about the people out there looking & their qualifications as well

What did you do that was so difficult to learn, if you don't mind me asking ?

I would think that if someone were hungry enough , you could do anything , and do it well. Obviously not.

Evidently the work was too demanding as several of the candidates went to lunch, never to return... Too many people out there don't want to have to work hard for the money. That's a big problem in this country.. Many want to come into a job making top dollar instead of working their way up the ladder like most of the rest of us did. (BTW, my youngest son is no exception)

That eems to be the standard philosophy of the younger, coming of age generation. They seem to think they are smarter, better educated, and more experienced than the older people, and that it is their right to start a job as the boss instead of starting at the bottom like the rest of us did. My 20 year old son was convinced he was going to be automatically wealthy when he turned 18. He was going to pay cash for a Dodge Viper and a house. Nothing I said could convince him he came from a poor family and had a lot of hard work ahead of him to meet those goals. Now he is 20, has a menial part time job along with his meager National Guard pay, living with friends and paying all of the bills. He is finally learning (the hard way) that I was right.
