So I was able to take a really nice Milky Way photo this past summer (at least I thought it was good). And I'm trying to get out more for nighttime photography. So I went to Joshua Tree NM a few weeks ago and gave it a try. I did manage to go on a day with pretty clear skies, bit it had rained a whole bunch the previous few days so it was actually quite moist (frost on the ground), so moist in fact that my lens got all fogged over after being out a half hour or so. Anyway, this was one of my better shots.
Enjoy,
A great shot, but check the "store original" box when attaching the photo. This allows us to enlarge the shot - something I would love to do with this one.
Thanks, I was going to upload my original but where I am at the moment I have extremely slow internet. I was honestly wondering if there was a 14.4K modem as our connection.
Hard to beat those New Mexico skies. Headed there for a few days on Thursday. Snow predicted. Could be special on Sierra Blanca and at Cloudcroft and White Sands.
Looks good, but would be better if larger.

Joshua Tree National Monument, in California.
My apologies if I am wrong but I used to shoot jackrabbits there back in the 70's.

I like the photo a lot. Would like to see you share it as "store original"
but Joshua Tree is in CA not NM but I think you probably knew that.
I'm sure the OP means Joshua Tree National Monument.
That's a beautiful capture....great job.
