I have a love for Photography..
I am suddenly feeling much younger at 64! :) But this is great news as I have some years yet to learn and enjoy (God willing).
I guess at 54 I'm one of those youngsters out there...sorry, being new to the art of photography I will not be of much help, I came in as a student to learn so that maybe in about 8 years I can become a Hardworking Gal in the field of photography first, to supplement my income and second, be able to use that supplemental income to travel and make more photographs so that I can travel more etc. Now here is a question for those looking for a question...Am I just dreaming or with hard work and dedication is this a possibility? Hard work has never scared me but dreaming, well, let's just say I've had a lot of bubbles busted at a young age so don't hold much value in daydreaming; just looking for an opportunity to be able to live the quote "You won't work a day if you enjoy what your doing!"

I am 63, been doing this since I was an 8yr old kid. Life can get in the way sometimes but I have always carried a camera. Now retired and feel like that 8yr old kid again. Can't kick as high as I used to but I'm still kicking!
Careful, if you kick TOO hard, your leg might fly off!!! LoL
SS
Ditto. ‘Cept, I just turned 74.

You never know until you try. There is an old saying, “Nothing ventured, nothing gained.” I think if you try hard enough you can accomplish whatever you try.
I have heard "follow your passion" a lot recently.
We are all seniors now and probably a lot of us have given so much time
to creating income for our families living and education or just supporting ourselves.
I have been asked about content communication and marketing over the years.
Their is not much different between advertising and the art of image making.
When I was in Egypt a few years ago and in the churches of Italy with the fresco's
and the Forbidden City in Peking I realized that art and imagery was large part
of people's lives.
Trying to explain "a lover photography" and the "passion" of doing something
different is what has driven civilization for centuries.
70 for me in one month. I wonder?... How many years does it make to be considered a "Pro"tographer. Seems like all our ages are should be worth somehting....? Kodachrome, I miss you.

I am a student of the Art of Photography. I have been leaning my whole life. I am an amateur and thus I have not learned as fast as if I was a professional. Im am 64 years of age and Photography is still a great creative passion for me. Increasingly so. I am grateful for that. I will continue to learn.
Same here JD. 64 years old. Been a student since age 11. Love the art of photography. Hope to continue to learn and sometimes the learning curve is very steep. Enjoy the challenge more now than ever.

Thank you for your post. I too am an amateur photographer who recently purchased my equipment and have truly fallen passionately in love with the art. I am 62 yrs. old and feel like a kid again. Let's continue to learn and most importantly, enjoy this new found passion.
God bless you.
