Diffusion for a ring light.
Does anybody have any DIY ideas?

I use aluminum adhesive metal tape to wrap around the edge of the ring like this it works perfectly especially when taking very close macro image.
Look in your local carryout for the domed drink covers. Maybe foil on inside? Just a thought.
white t-shirt or bedsheet, cut to fit
Hey Scott, I use a paper towel sandwiched between two pieces of laminate I have made at office depot. You could cut the paper towel to size, like a donut, then cut your laminated the same only a 1/4 inches bigger and have them, office depot run through the heated roller that bonds it all together. Not sure if you make a diffuser how far it can stick out past your lens. Thin cardboard rolled up with paper towel diffuser taped at the edges and add aluminum foil to inside of the card board might work??? Wish we were neighbors, sure we could built something nice that works in an afternoon...............
Not sure of the size of your ring light but mine is 2 ft and I use almost any soft white material to soften and diffuse the light falling on the subject.. Take a look in your local fabric store or even a Salvation Army store. I have a variety of colors which i use. I take a smaller LED flashlight with me and shine it thru the fabric. Very, very inexpensive.
