That's an easy choice. Switched from years with Leica, Nikon F Series to a happy life with several Nikon DSLR's. All great heavy Cameras. Nowhere near as smart & intelligent as the SONY line of mirrorless cameras. Hard to adapt to the SONY world of fine photography but well worth it. Began with the "One and Only" SONY a6000. From there one can migrate up to FF (which really isn't necessary no matter what the pros say) and thousands of dollars just for a body. Why not try out the SONY a6500. Select your best lenses for what you want to photograph, still or video and migrate up from there. Far as I'm concerned, you can't beat it. Fuji is good. Panasonic is good too with its Leica lenses. Nikon has a long way to go before it can catch up. All of what I say is simply one person's opinion. By no means the last word.

[quote=suntouched]That's exciting! I have seen reviews and images from that camera and it's impressive. Did you get a lens? Reviewers and consumers are always hooked on the negatives. The Nikon D7500 got raked over the coals for only 1 memory card slot- and very little mention of the positive attributes of which there are many. And so on it goes. Enjoy your camera. Anyway you mentioned a Nikon dealer in Tucson. I didn't know there were any local photo businesses in Tucson anymore. Where did you find one?[/quote

I bought the 24 - 70 F4 and adapter to use my 28 - 300 and 50mm Ff lenses. I will likely get something in the 85 or 105 range next. Tucson Camera Repair on Oracle Road is a Nikon dealer and authorized Nikon repair facility. If you go there, tell them Mike Sagara told you about them. I have bought my cameras there and also have had them repaired there. They go beyond in customer service.

Without going into an in-depth study of mirrorless cameras, that would be my knee-jerk purchase, based on what I've read here and in reviews.

The z6 and Z7 are great for non-moving subjects--but are substandard at continuous AF (for small children, pets, sports, and wildlife). They also lack eye-AF.

Olympus OMD e-M I Mark II or the M-5 Mark II. The 5-axis in-camera stabilization is phenominal! Add to that a wide assortment of lenses, weatherproofing... I think tough to beat, but I'll admit to being prejudiced!

Depends on what you want to accomplish and how much you have invested already in lenses for the candidate model.

Nothing to do with the query, (I use the Olympus OMD E-M1mk2, a superb camera with outstanding lenses), but nice to see the avatar from "MAD" magazine. I used to read it cover to cover many times over. The Don Martin cartoons were excellent!

The Sony a7 ii is a generation older than the iii but is an exceptional FF mirroless camera and the price point is outstanding.Terrific IQ and more and more lens are available .
They are one of the veterans of mirroless systems. I have had since it was released and have not complaints

You will get lots of answers!! I just upgraded to a Fuji X-T3 (from the X-T2) and it has been my camera of choice since I got it. It has fast focus, video continuous focus has been improved, fabulous color, fun film simulations, relatively easy to use, perfect size and weight. I have my Fuji X-T2 for sale if interested.

👍👍👍
