I'm fairly sure it's a scarab beetle, but that's a HUGE family, with thousands of species. Do you have other pics from different angles?

From these, it looks a lot like the hermit scarab - or hermit flower beetle.

Here's a pic to compare.

One of the 'chafer' scarabs, and newtoyou probably has the ID. These are beetles that favor feeding on flowers and fruit.
