photos from Grand Canyon 1206
Nice.
Nope, never been there.
Thanks for posting.
The third one looks like the one I took in 2010. Amazing views.
Nice.
Been there four times, including the North Rim.
The Lady is oh so beautiful.
Yes! I visited the Grand Canyon in 2009 and think I took some photos from very near the spot of your #3. Awesome views of that place!
thanks every one -- the canyon is very difficult to capture in the camera,I'm not sure I have truly captured the the real canyon
I really like the last one especially - and if you could lighten up the foreground just a bit to get a little more detail in she shadows it would be even better.
Cheers

It is extremely to capture the size and scale of the canyon in a photograph. 17 miles wide, a mile deep, and the north rim is almost a quarter mile higher in elevation than the south rim.
The are very nice depictions of one of my favorite places in the United States.

Great photos.
We spent a few minutes there on our honeymoon in 1971 and then kept going. It was a long hot day in June (no A/C) and we were trying to get from San Bernardino to Durango. Had a blowout in the middle of the Mojave, it took a couple of hours to get it fixed in Flagstaff (to find the correct tube), and we got as far as Kayenta AZ. There were no rooms available, so we ended up in sleeping bags in the car in a dirt lot by a Chevron station. Fortunately, we were in my '67 Barracuda fastback, so there was a flat area behind the front seat about 6 1/2 x 3 1/2 feet. We spent part of our honeymoon camping, so we had all of our gear. That was part of a 3,500 mile 9 day trip and we are still happily married. Next time we go there it will be different.
