The real answer is probably some intervention where the problem originates for these people' The intervention could take many forms, and would probably be cheaper than ignoring the problem. I'm guessing that we see things to differently to have a rational discussion.

There ya go again....intimating that I'm incapable of a rational discussion...yet I've seen no answer to the questions that I posed. How can there be discussion when somebody asks questions that aren't answered? You guys are so dismissive it's ridiculous.

Remember, Obama was known as the deporter in chief. He deported more people than all the Presidents in the 20th century combined, and I would imagine Trump himself, although I have not looked up those numbers. Yet nobody accused Obama of hatred. Gotta ask why?

There are people—even here, Rose—who read and think, measure and evaluate, and seek to understand. Don’t be alarmed, Rose, I don’t include you in that number, or Elaine, but there are such people, and I offer a viewpoint they might consider, and grow, and learn.

Not every poster is like you, Rose, and I thank my lucky stars that is so.

You jump from discussion of Obama’s deportation numbers to Trump‘s hatred—a totally different subject.

Let’s see,Trump’s racism, his sexism, his predatory sexual attacks, his dishonesty, his theft and lies, his cheap vulgarity and tawdry mind and actions, his small soul lacking in all humanity, his supreme stupidity and political incompetence—there’s something to discuss, but we have such little time.

I’m a fast typist, though sometimes inaccurate. It gives you a good chance to avoid responsibility and humanity, to change the subject and run.

You’re welcome.

One of the most sensible posts regarding immigration in a long time here in the forum. Why do these people qualify to enter the U.S. illegally anymore than millions from other countries who are separated by distance, oceans etc.
The U.S. cannot be the savior of mankind. Those that apply LEGALLY must always be at the head of the line, not those who break our laws with forced entry.

What's your answer to the problem, Twardlow, allow all the GOOD people from these countries to immigrate to the U.S.? Might as well let all of South America come. What's special about these 4000 people as opposed to the other 93,000,000 people left in Honduras?

Maybe it's time for the people of these countries to take their countries back.

Good Samaritans have been leaving water in the desert for people trying to survive. SOME border agents have been videotaped dumping out the water they find. Very Christian thing to do.....

He seems pretty smart. He probably isn't smarter than anyone else, and he probably doesn't think so. Conversing with some people (I don't mean to speak for him, I really can't do that) can be so frustrating. You obviously enjoy mixing it up, except when you on occasion realize you are overmatched. Then you get angry. I don't really know if you are simple or not, but if you aren't, a person could sure be forgiven for thinking you are.

Lol. Who is overmatched is highly subjective and pretty typically follows partisan lines. I don't get angry over posts. That's silly. There are things to get angry at and a forum sure isn't one of them.

It's fascinating to see people toss rationality out the window and pretend they haven't then continue going down the same dead end road.

Most simpletons have that problem.

This NBCNews.com headline, and the Nightly News last night seems to lay the death of this little girl at the feet of the border patrol, who ended up transporting her to the hospital, albeit 90 minutes away. I am sure, too, that she receive whatever medical aid that they were able to render.

The question must be raised....who put this young girl in the situation of being on death's door in the first place, far away from medical care?

Let's let responsibility fall where it truly lies.

We have had veteran's waiting, and dying, for years, so far Trump is the only one who has done anything about it. Now THATS responsibility.

Oh BTW, who put Kate Steinle in the situation of being put on deaths door? And OBTW, she is just the poster girl of your irresponsibility. Here are a few more members of the club you refuse to acknowledge....

It's a good thing. The EPA has not had time to regulate the use of that water.

Steve,
I responded to this situation on another thread but I just wanted to say that we shouldn't be playing the blame game. There's a seven-year-old who is dead and our responsibility as human beings is to look at the causes and see what we can do to prevent another unnecessary death.

Oh PALEEEEZE! Enough of the drama.

Getting back to the original topic and how it was worded...the implication of the heading is that the child died because of a 90 minute drive to a hospital. Many people in that part of the country live 90 minutes and more from a hospital. Why would a father sign papers saying both he and his daughter were healthy just to be allowed across the border when the child was that close to death? Coming from south of our border, he certainly has lived knowing that dehydration can be fatal yet he put his daughter in that situation. There is no need to blame this country for bad decisions made by others.

If you or I put our children at such risk we would be arrested and the kid would go to CPS, not made a martyr. There is no low despicable democrats won't go to try to vilify DJT.

I understand your dismay at my plea for humanity.
You would have gone absolutely nuts, had she been aborted as a fetus, but now that she was a human being, she can die and you have no feelings.
You've lived with potatoes too long. Your heart has turned into an unfeeling mass of starch.
