I use a laser rangefinder to find the distance to the Bald Eagle, but I don't measure every shot. The Eagles have migrated here from Canada, for about 6 weeks, to feast on our spawning salmon and don't care too much how reasonably close we get. Too close and they will fly away. There are a lot of pine trees in this area which help us photographers get as close as 100 feet.
Thank you very much, Wingpilot.

Gotta love the natural blinds there. They sure do reward you with some fabulous photos. We do appreciate your sharing them with us.

True, the natural pine tree blinds make a big difference of how close you can get to the Bald Eagles.

Thank you very much, Wingpilot.

I guess they're more concerned about getting filled up with salmon than they are with the humans taking their pictures. Well, keep up the good work.

Great shot, particularly since it's hand held. That is one magnificent creature.
