Another beautiful portrait, Regis. I'm always amazed at your composition. I'm doing good to SEE a bird, let alone get it in my camera's frame! And they are never at an ideal spot. Yours are always posed so beautifully in such a beautiful scene.

I don't always capture the wildlife with a good background. Luck and trying hard to position my camera to get the good shot with a good background is tricky. I crop my photos to show the bird and background as best I can. Even though my camera/lens weighs about 8 lbs., I can move around to position myself to get a good shot, unlike the larger lenses that have to supported with a tripod. See my photo below of my camera/lens/extender set-up.
Thank you very much, AzPicLady.

That is a really nice eagle portrait, Regis. Thanks for sharing that.
I'd just like to know how you manage to get so close to your subjects. You show the distance to the subject in each of your photos and I've always wondered how you get so close to those magnificent eagles. Good job.

Regis, your eagle shots are consistently among the best I've seen anywhere. How do you get so many. Do you live in a target rich environment for Bald Eagles?

Regis,

Beautiful shot. You've taken a very nice shot of a majestic subject. Keep up the good work. I assume this was taken near water...any idea what it was focusing on so intently? jak
