A grasshopper on a hibiscus flower.

This was just a fluke shot. I was standing on my landing when I noticed this guy on a double hibiscus flower about 15' away. Being too lazy to go outside, I zapped him from where I was with my P1000 & a zoom of 930mm. Downloading is recommended.

By the way, this is the first time I have ever seen a grasshopper on a hibiscus bush.

Lol. I think he just landed there my mistake--he didn't feed on any leaves (or flowers) at all.

WOW!!! Earl a great capture and as usual for you a DDL shows off the detail and sharpness. The grasshopper's wings in particular show me some details I have never seen before.

that grasshopper knew he'd not find a bug on that beautiful flower...he just
wanted to pose for the guy with the camera 15 feet away. great shot, earl!
