This was a regular 3by 2 shot cropped to 3 to 1 ratio.

Where did you take this shot? I'm sure we'll get out to S.D. again to visit my daughter. I might try to duplicate your shot!! I think my favorite spot so far is Coronado Beach....in October. Seals running up and down the beach, copters flying overhead. Otherwise, the beach was pretty much empty. I'm sure it's hoppin' in the summer.

I didn't take that shot (wish I had) but you can get that shot or similar ones from Harbor Island or Shelter Island in San Diego. Harbor Island is right near the airport and Shelter Island is further along--take Harbor Drive past the airport (west) and turn left on Scott and then at the first stop light turn left again and you'll be on Shelter Island. Also some of the harbor cruises go out at night and give you a multitude of shots but probably not with as much control as you'll have on one of the islands.

The shot was taken from Coronado next to the park. I forgot what it's called. It's right next to all the shops just to the right of Orange Ave.

Very pretty. We are actually planning on visiting San Diego next month. Staying in the Gaslamp area. We have a friend who has just retired from the Navy there. Looking forward to doing lots of sight seeing and hopefully warmer weather!!

Great shot from the Coronado side across the bay. Love the reflections. Makes me think of going back there to shoot it again myself.

I've taken shots of this same skyline in the daytime. (Mine are from the beach on Coronado.) This night shot is very striking. Love the reflections.

Just noticed your comment about Coronado. Mentioned that in my comment also!

I know exactly where this was taken, because I did the same shot this summer. If you Google Map Peohe's restaurant in Coronado you'll find this spot about 50 yards south of the restaurant.

You can get this shot from Coronado,Take the bridge across take the first right you come to follow it around to you cant go any fauther you will see a small shoping center with beach front shops pull in and the San Diego skyline will be right in front of you or you can take the Ferry from the foot of broadway and that will take you over to C0ronado also.I like to drive there because you can drive around and vist all the other spots like the Hotel Del Coronado. The best way to explore S.D and see the places to shoot pictures is to p/u the book PhotoSecrets San Diego by Andrew Hudson new it costs $18.95 used about $10.00.Web site PhotoSecrets.com This is one of the best photo books of San Diego and makes a great souvenir of your trip to S.D.

Excellent shot, love the reflections on the water! I worked in Coronado for almost 5 years in the late nineties, but couldn't bear to leave the Bay Area. One daughter graduated from UCSD and our youngest son is attending there now.
