4 years (& 4 months) ago my elderly boss called and said he needed help when he got to work getting someone out of the car. Now, my first thought was "who in the world are you bringing in at 8 in the morning who would need help getting out of your car" When he pulled in and opened the door, there she was, this little scrawny dog who looked scared to death. The first thing he said was "I don't want her to go to the pound" so I spent two hours going from door to door in his neighborhood trying to see if anyone was missing her. Then we made a trip to my vets to see if she was micro chipped (which was no surprise, she wasn't, and had no collar on) We all figured she was around 2 years old, so that night she came home with me. My male Caiden, even though fixed, would not stop sniffing and trying to get her from the kennel she was being kept in. Back to the vets the next morning with the question of "just how old is this dog" Well, after a better examination, it was guesstimated she was around 8.5 months old, in heat, nails that looked like they had never been cut, and had a baby tooth that needed to be pulled. She never acted like a puppy, was very quiet and just wanted to stay in her kennel. Once she was fixed it took it around 2 weeks to make her understand it was ok to sleep in the bedroom with us, and deep down inside I think she was a puppy mill dog that didn't turn out the way they wanted her too. We think she is part Shitzu/terrier, she has an adorable under-bit, and we LOVE her dearly. I always tell everyone we meet, whoever didn't want her, really lost out, she is a fantastic dog, who has blossomed over the past 4 years (& 4 months). She comes to work with me periodically, we go to obedience classes, and we compete in competitions and we just have a great time together, she loves Agility and soaring over the bars as we are running around. She is the dog I've always waited for. I love my other two, but they weren't cut out for the competition world and Penny loves it! She was a throw away dog, but whoever they were, never really knew what they had. So sweet girl, my mystery girl, Happy, 5th birthday Penny!
She does "puppy eyes" very well.

LOL,
I know what you mean, I always thought it had that "fiddler on the roof" feeling
She's pretty good about letting me dress her up, but there are times when I get this "do we HAVE to do this again" look, she is so much fun!
