why can't people just say what they need help with? I'm serious! Love to see it move to the FAQ section.

Exactly. That way, posts with valuable info about the topic will have a better chance of being read at a later time if the seeker uses a keyword in Search. (eg, "I Need Help with memory card!" )

I totally agree with the original post. If the poster just gives a generic "need help," I skip it. If it's a need help that I can actually help with, I'll open it.

As to people believing that it doesn't take much to open a thread, it would take even less work for a poster to tell what they need help with.

As it is, I open only a few of the posts on UHH because they either don't apply to me (and my knowledge base) or the original poster is too lazy to say what they need help with.

It would be really, really nice if you say what kind of help you need in the title of your postings. Instead of saying " I need help", why not say, I need help removing background, How do you do this! Please, or even better have the Hedgehog, start a section, I need help, so all the titles can blend into one!

With 20k plus members it has become imposible to look at every post and the number of members giving help are far out numbered by those needing help. If the title inicates the knowledge needed to answer the questions the helpers will save a lot of time not opening post where they may not be able to help. This would be a good thing for us dummies because the helpers will have more time to help us.

Also if you don't use search you should plus learn other ways to research problems. There is no dumb question, only people to lazy to do a little reseach.

I agree...I need help and a one or two word description...is going to get the right people looking at your post

"Need help with macro"
"Need help with PP"
"Need help with landscapes"

Totally agree. It would be nice if people would read the rules around here because that is stated in the rules. Keep from using general topic headings such as "help". That way viewers can quickly identify if they can help you or not. Part of the reason I don't participate around here much anymore. No one seems to care that there is an established order of things or a way to make things easier for the other members to help you.

I'm with dasloaf and the others favoring more descriptive language. It is time-consuming for those of us who have jobs, etc. to click in and then have to click back when we see that we are not interested or cannot help. I know a click isn't hard, but a few more decriptive words is not hard either. I tend not to open these threads when I'm rushed and I may be missing out.
