Hi all, my name is Ian and I live near Oxford, UK. A few years ago I gained my LRPS using a Rollei B35 and a Mamiya 645J. Having gained that qualification through a series of City & Guilds vocational courses, I was a founder member of the Newbury 923 photo group. We met monthly and held annual exhibitions.
My current gear is mainly FujiFilm Pro and Nikon with Nikon lenses. My subject interests are automotive and botanical with some portraiture.
This looks like a really useful group to be part of. Forum search is definitely my friend already- I'd not connected any of my Metz or Vivitar flashguns to a DSLR, rather using the on-camera flash to fire them via an optical slave trigger. Now I know about safe-sync devices from the high-voltage threads- thanks for that.
Cheers
Ian

HI Ian, welcome to the forum.
Welcome to the forum, IanA. I too have old flashes and luckily never hooked them up direct to my canon dslr. I learned about the flash voltage problem from this forum, too.
