I know most of you guys do videography. Would you please be kind to answer this question for me?
I've been trying to downsize a large video file with a video compressor. Every time I compressed the video, the length of time is cut it in half. Please help
Thank you so much
Try using a simple program like windows moviemaker and just export/save and choose the output file size you want.
That should only make the movie/files smaller, not edit the runtime in half. Have you tried checking the player? It may be adjusted to play the movie at 2x speed, or does not have the proper codec.
I found the problem! Actually compressing the video did not make it shorter but instead it's when I transfered to to Whatsapp to have it published.
I use a Nikon D7200 for videography with the output via the mini-HDMI connector on the camera feeding an ATOMOS Ninja2 recorder. I have the recorder encoding the video stream into ProRes 422 LT. This produces a file size roughly 30GB/Hr of recording. To reduce the file size and re-encode it into MP4 so I can suitably edit it, I use a freeby called Handbrake on my Windows PC - a very useful piece of software to re-encode files into just about any format you need it to be. After processing with Cyberlink PowerDirector, I typically re-encode the PowerDirector output to a MP4 file suitable for playing on devices supporting 1080p at 25FPS. The output file from Handbrake is then typically around 2GB/hr playing duration.
