Not so very bad, but we went from no snow at all, to about 10 inches overnight. My wife told me the tracks in the road were completely covered over, and this photo was only 20 minutes old at the time. Blotches in the image were snowflakes that were still falling quite consistently.

Bob, glad to see you posting. The snow around Southeast Raleigh is all but gone. Streets are still a mess in the neighborhoods but major roads are clear. I know you are aware of the temps coming in Monday night and the next few days which may make it a tad worse with a refreeze. Take care friend.

I forgot to say that your photo is great.

Greg

Nice snow shot, Bob. We are getting snow in the mountains, where we desperately need it. Not much here on the front range. I love a good snow like that - time for a good book and cup of hot chocolate in front of the fire.

It looks about like that here in High Point. We have 10-12 inches of snow and a little ice. We're thankful we haven't lost power yet.

It's amazing how different the weather in this Piedmont Triad area is from that of Metrolina (Charlotte). CLT is usually on the edge, with a wintry mix. Statesville gets snow, Charlotte gets a mix, and Rock Hill, SC gets mostly rain. This time, CLT got very little snow and some sleet. We got dumped on!

Of course, my friends in Canandaigua, NY, and Winona, MN, laugh at that... until they come down here and try to drive on Southern snow! In the Northern states, roads stays cold enough to have packed powder on them. Here, the snow melts when it first hits warm roads, then freezes into black ice under the snow. Plowing just makes it slicker. It melts the next day, then re-freezes even worse overnight. Body shops love it!
