I am looking at the MIOPS attachment. It is a standalone camera trigger that turns your camera or flash unit into high-speed photography equipment (or at least that is how it is advertised). I am wondering if anyone in this professional group of photographers knows of this attachment and if it is a good product and does what is advertised. I saw it advertised on FaceBook - so don't know how reliable it is or if there is something out there that is better for such high-speed photography. Thank you for any comments on this product.
I have one. It is a pretty cool device, but it is a good idea to read everything you can find about it, and watch any YouTube video you can find. One might be tempted to think that using MIOPS to activate your camera’s shutter would be the way to go for everything. Some things, like lightning, or capturing an object or person as it crosses a lazer beam, using MIOPS to activate your shutter is the way to go. In many cases, however, using MIOPS to activate your flash is the real way to go. The camera’s shutter just isn’t that fast. I’m not talking about shutter speed. I’m talking about the lag time between telling the shutter to activate, and the activation, itself.
It is easy to use, but you’ll have to acquaint yourself with the concept of photographing in the dark, with a somewhat long exposure. It is the flash that takes the shot.

Thank you, Anvil for your response.
I have one and bought the Splash Unit with the arm as well.
It's fun.
I have had only one lighting storm since I bought it, But I have a picture of a lighting bolt now.
I froze some water with food coloring in it, I went outside and bashed it with a hammer. I used the sound mode, it worked without a hitch.
I have dropped water balloons filled with colored water into my tub.
I have dropped a apple and a orange into a fish tank. That came out cool.
I have water drop pictures.
You need a good tripod, I do not think I could have hand held the shots I got.
You can find some of the shots if you click on my name, they are posted here.
I would honestley buy it again.

Thank you for your input. I clicked on your name to look at your photos and didn't see any - maybe it is under your name and then I needed to click on something else. If you don't mind - where did you purchase your equipment from. I hesitate to purchase things right off of FB - if you know what I mean:-)
Thank you again for your input.
The lighting was taken with the Miops and the water drops were with the splash.Tom
