The No 3 photo is one that hits me in the right way. Never seen one like this. I take TrailCam photos for photography and not for hunting so they mean a little more than deer and turkeys.

TrailCam photos help me know which creatures are out there and I enjoy the quail, burrowing owls, skunks, cougars and bobcats, etc. I also lecture on wildlife and use my TrailCam as part of the program. So many don't have trail equipt that they are really interested in the kind of photos they take.

I would like to see more TrailCam photos of all kinds here. And hear of UHH experiences.

I've had a cougar jump over my camera and also a coyote jumped over it. I've hid it so well that people are 3' from it and can't find it.

Nice deer. I love my trail cams. I hope your Brownings are working better for you than the one I tried. It went back within a day, death on batteries. I shot stills for years using Moultrie cameras and they worked great taking almost 100K shots each over many years. The new ones sure wont do that anymore. However, when I started watching families of fox and set up some cams by their den I decided to do videos. Tried Browning, StealthCam, no names and all had issues. Some went defective within days, batteries would die in just a few days or the IR flash would be like a spotlight effect, some would not write to the SD Card or ruin the SD card when swapped in or out. Often at night there was clicking, clacking and humming on the audio which I assume was from the IR LED's heating up. I finally settled on Spypoint 10 and 11D. I have 4 and love using them. THe 11D has sound and I have to limit the video length to 10seconds or I get a hum as the IR's heat up and the battery weakens. At 10 seconds it works well. I enjoy seeing whats out and about. Trail cams can be great fun. This year its been mostly fox (6 kits in this years family), raccoons, and coyotes. No deer or turkeys this year which has been strange.

I use a Bushnell and have had excellent results. I use rechargeable batteries which last several weeks on a charge. I get lots of deer, foxes, raccoons, and squirrels in my backyard. I see things from a different angle and at night that I don’t see from my windows. I live in a retirement community and some of the residents who don’t get out much really enjoy seeing the videos. To prvent the spot light blowing out details I have covered part of the IR lights with tape.

I tried a Bushnell but it was defective out of the box, a large black spot on the pictures and videos, something with the sensor I am sure. I got a replacement but was not happy with the battery life. I get a lot of activity on the cameras and did not want to be changing batteries every few days. They seemed like a good quality build though. I too have had to block some of the IR LED's on the Spypoint 11D, the Spypoint 10's do better on the IR than the 11D do. Right now I have one out doing something its really not designed to do. I have it low just off the ground and only about 6 feet from a garbage dumpster getting videos of mice at night. Fun to watch. I may have to block some of those LEDs since its reflecting off the dumpster. I dont hunt but love seeing whats around at night. I have security cams facing the yards for night time critters too. I am in the country so people and cars are not a problem. I share the videos on Youtube for family and friends. The city folk love to see the animals (and so do I).

I like your stories, Woodsman. You're thoughts are like mine. I do enjoy TrailCams. They're another type of photo enjoyment.

Jimmyholt, I just bought my first, Browning Strike Force Pro XD, from <Trailcampro.com>. I bought my first trail camera from a BassPro Shop and they gve me a good presentation which I really do appreciate. However, they do not make repairs–which I've never needed YET.
It was advertised as 24MP so I bought it. I have had lots of fun with it! But I will always consider Trailcampro because they are the ONLY ones that tell you to look at the photos and forget MPs, because all makers megapixels are 'extrapolated' to make the cameras more saleable. ('extrapolated' megapixels do not make a better photo, they only show higher MB's)

Look at the camera on <trailcampro.com> I bought. Look at it's photos and movies for you'll see much better animals day and night with color and B/W. Oh, Yes! They also sell a wonderful device that you can screw into a log, tree or other hard surface and it also has a ball/screw that you can set your camera at any angle. The only negative I have is that it has a lot of blue/green among it's camo colors. I am in the desert and the light blue is not a camo for here. When I get some photos I'll show them here. They should show bighorn, deer, mountain lion, coyote and bobcats.

I have both cameras there today. They will be there for sometime and I just switch cards when it's possible.

Also, I never tell anyone where they are for it's not the animals listed above that are the problem but the 'homosapiens' that think they're theirs.
