They come here to Az. They stay with us until about March and then take off group by group until one day there are none. The surrounding farms leave corn in the field for them to gather and the dry beds are kept filled with water for them. We usually get small flocks of snow geese too that come with them. On good years we get large varieties of ducks too. Last few years haven't been very good for visiting ducks but one year the ponds were full.

I've often wondered where our cranes go in the winter. We here in Wisconsin host tens of thousands of Sandhill Cranes from early spring 'til late fall. It's an amazing site to watch them "gather" in the fall. Then, suddenly, over night they're gone!
