Well the male snagged a peanut.
I am now doing more tests of the Tamron 150-600 G2 but now with a FF 5DIV. As with the 6D and 7DII with the G1 version the FF seems to be playing better without adjustments. I will have to calibrate the 80D and the lens.
5DIV, Tamron 150-600 G2 @ 600, 1/125 @ f/6.3, ISO 800 no flash, with tripod at about 50 feet. Gloomy afternoon and light.

Beautiful bird and a beautiful shot, Jerry! I'd love to serve peanuts to our birds, but I'd have a squirrel raid if I did.

I do get squirrel raids, and crows and ravens. But the yard police keep it semi-under control.

LOL I like your yard police. We have to practically push ours out the door to take care of her business, and she rubbed noses with the only squirrel she's ever encountered.

Very nice Jerry. The early bird gets the peanut. Isn't that how it goes?

You caught a good one, Robert, in spite of the poor lighting!

Well mine have a different attitude, esp Tara - fresh squirrel is on her bucket list. The best she has done so far is getting a few tail hairs. But she deserves an award as the best "squirrel fitness trainer" in the area. It is amazing how fast/far a squirrel can run, climb or jump when they have 20 lbs of Jack Russell mix incoming like a furry little dragster.
