As long as you are reading the envelopes they come in, everything is OK! Age is a number - attitude is more important! I'm about to be 82. That's fine with me!

The envelopes are always plain, no writing or info on them. I have always assumed they are for hearing aids and have always been correct. But the crematoria people did the same thing. Now, when I receive plain envelopes, I can have fun guessing which they are.

I get snail mails from local funeral homes. I write "RETURN TO SENDER. I'M NOT DEAD YET." on the envelope and put it back in the mailbox.

Hahaha, I may try that just for fun.

For unwanted advertisements coming to your physical mail box, check out http://www.ecocycle.org/junkmail. There might be a $2.00 fee; I didn't look too closely at that. But $2.00 might be very well spent.

Thanks DragonsLady. Actually, I kinda think it's funny so don't actually mind it that much.

I have walked out to my mailbox dutifully for the last 60 years and picked up the mail (I might have missed a couple dozen days in that period of time). At the beginning of that period of time I probably read 50-75% of the mail. I think that's down to 1% now, probably significantly less. I have one of those green recycling containers, maybe about 2 cubic feet. The junk mail fills that in about 3 weeks.

I consider about 99% of it to be junk mail also. However, much of it is ads and catalogs which wifey likes to read. But most of it ends up in the recycle bin.

You should celebrate. You no longer have to strip at TSA!

Back in the '70s and '80s I flew quite a lot, but no more. Have to get up to pee way too often.

I sometimes toss the crematoria letters into the fireplace, but that doesn't mean I'll shove the hearing aide ones in my ear.

At least you are just starting to get them. I started getting them when I was about 25. I think it was related to my Auto Club membership originally being an associated one to my father's. That is why my card shows that I have been a member for 65 years. I'm only 71.

It was a fairly nice card, maybe I should have kept it?

I pass all those cemetery, crématorium ads along to my wife. It’ll be her call, anyway.

You sure do! After you’ve outlived all your friends it’s the only mail you get besides bills and charitable donation requests. Lol
