Thank you manofhg! Aren't you happy that we have digital photography! I know I am!!! LOL! Paste wax! Will have to try that! I have tried liquid glycerin when dropping onto some items....with some success but not always of course...depending on what I am using as a "prop". I like the idea of the past wax. I have never bought any. Could you give me an idea of what to get? I find that many photographers have specific brands that they use and it helps to know. Again.... I think this is a gorgeous shot.

Also on the subject of mediums to use... I also use glycerin with food colouring when working with abstracts in water. The glycerin drops to the bottom and saves changing the water every time. This is a terrible picture but the only one I have as an example. I needed more DOF to get better sharpness. Need to get another small fish tank!!! OMG. Thought that came to mind!!! I wonder what it would be like to add food coloring to drops when using a setup like you have done..... hmmmmmm.

Thanks for commenting and sharing your work as well. I first tried spraying a leaf with some clear coat thinking I would prevent the water from soaking in, but while it did do that, the problem was that the water wasn't beading up. I thought of oil or in this case wax. I had some Minwax Floor Wax which is a solid, but melts when touched. I put some on my finger and rubbed the leaf. This was adequate to get the water to bead for the picture. Don't know if I could have added more to make it even more hydrophobic or use something else.

Using glycerin, I have shot bubbles (soap) recently and had the glycerin to help keep the bubbles from popping as fast. Here is a link to one of the pictures.....https://photos.app.goo.gl/LHmQpRSjey5kLL589

My first attempt at water drop photography, not splashing, but using the water drops as lenses. Had a lot of difficulty getting the drops to bead on the leaf, and also to get enough of the pumpkin visible in the drops. I know there are a lot of things that could have been cleaned up or corrected, but this was just a first attempt to see what I could produce.

...Excellent
