Hi...I'm going to Texas Stadium for the first time to see BAMA & MI play...it's a night game on Sept 1.
I have a D 7000. lenses include a 11-17 mm F 2.8,70-200mm F 2.8,70-300 mm F 4- 5.6,and my favorite 18-200 F 3.5-5.6.Unsure of the lighting in the stadium...can I use the 11-17 plus the 18-200 ???????...or do I need to use the 70-200 F 2.8. I won't be using a tripod. I assume it will as bright as High Noon since it is a televised game...but don't want to assume anything
thanks for all the replies and suggestions
if you watch the game''.Ill be the guy in Crimson & White !!
ROLL TIDE ROLLLLLLLLL!

Lucky dog!! You might check ahead to see the regulation on cameras. I know that you can't get into Michigan Stadium with a full size camera as part of the Homeland Security measures.....at least that was the rule a few years ago. I don't know about Texas Stadium.
I think this was just a slick way of tellin' us about your equipment.

You're going to have a hard time getting into Texas Stadium! They tore it down a couple of years ago after the Dallas Cowboys moved into their new Cowboys Stadium in Arlington! :-)
No advice, but...My son goes to Michigan... GO BLUE!!
Better check with security before you go to the game and see what you can bring in to the Stadium! I know that some of the professional teams have very strict rules concerning cameras and won't let you in with a large telephoto lens! Something to do with people selling their game photos and them not getting their cut of the profits. I always email someone and print off their response and present it when challenged. If you can take the 70-200, it is the fastest lens and it would work best in the stadium. Post the results in the sports photography section of the board!
I went to a college game there last season. The back of my ticket stub read " no professional detachable long lens cameras".
Joe Louis Arena in Detroit only allows point and hoot cameras and if you get caught with anything else, you are escorted out and not allowed to re enter! Check with Security and get something in writing!

http://stadium.dallascowboys.com/guests/guestInfo.cfm was in effect two years ago. I used that as a valid reason for a new point and shoot.

At least the loss will be early in the season. Plenty of time to get over it. ROLL TIDE!!!!! I didn't realize that it was that difficult to carry in SLR/ DSLR equipment these days. Some thing to think about.

I might go with the 70-300 and the 11-17 for some interesting wide angle shots. Have fun.
thanks for the replies Guys...got my stadium names mixed up for some reason
I'll check on the stadium policy...it appears every stadium is different.
the Gorgia dome allows detachable lens cameras.
I really wanted to capture the scoreboard at the end...BAMA 30 MI 0
thanks again ...ROLL TIDE

Only one thing to say about that.... Denard Robinson. Nuff said. Me...Since I'm a Sooner fan... I have only one concern with the game. If the boys in maize and blue can pull off the upset - then no repeat of last years national championship game.

Since there have been a few gripes about this turning into a sports forum I'll lean it back towards photography. Still have Tri-X negs from Legion Field and Bryant Denny as well as Jordan–Hare Stadium in Auburn shot from the sidelines in mid 70"s. OK that's done. Roll Tide! and can't wait for the SEC to go into the playoff system.
