Still a work in progress

These images are more in tune with what we like to do. Better, I would hope than my first post a few months back. We’re just having some fun, but always looking to improve. Before anyone comments, in the second picture, her left breast looks quite a bit larger than the right breast. Not sure if it’s the angle, shadows or combination of both. I can tell you, they not as disproportionate the image may suggest.

I like both, but the second a bit more than the first. The first is just lacking contrast.

Thanks Bob, I would agree with your thoughts on the contrast in the first shot.

Brian, I guess I just want you to explain what you meant by that. Are you trying to second guess what "we" like to see or do and shoot to that?
Don't worry, your work will NEVER go backwards, just different.
Shoot what YOU like to shoot and develop that.
I think I like the B&W better but it too lacks a lot of contrast. The problem with color is we ALL know what color people are and if the color doesn't work, we ALL know it.
In photo school it was hammered into us "NO STORIES". Meaning that if you have to explain or defend your work what you really need to do is re-shoot it so it doesn't need any excuses or explanations.
I think I mentioned in one of your other pics that you need to create the contrast by using a combination of light and f-stop and light angles.
Nice pics!!

The first image is a bit too dark and lacking contrast, the second image is better with the contrast but just a tad to dark.I do like the second image!!!

I like both images the way they are. In the first image, the little light highlights both of her breasts nicely - the coloring of the entire image adds, if not "makes it"

SS, My Reference to “we” has to do with my subject as she is my partner so, both of us agree what we’re comfortable posting. I like these types of shots, working to get the lighting/shadows is the challenge. I look for feedback from this forum for thoughts or suggestions as a way for me to improve.
Thank you for your feedback.

I'm obviously not as artistic as most on here, so my impressions are:

The second one is somewhat interesting, but the first one: "geez, do you have a flashlight or something".

I agree with the comments that the first one is just too dark.

Regarding your style and comfort level, if I recall you once stated that your partner/model would like to remain somewhat anonymous. Isn't that a bit difficult with your friends who know you? Hiding her face from us strangers seems a bit unnecessary because we would likely never encounter/recognize her anyway. For those that know her face and now know what she is doing in the way of nude modelling, it seems a bit after-the-fact. Just curious how you (both) interpret the situation.

Have you tried shooting through a yellow or orange filter to reduce the extremes of light and dark and even out the contrast?

Actually, think it’s me that isn’t comfortable with exposing her face. We’ve only been experimenting with this for a few months. Maybe in the future that may happen.

I like 'em both. The size difference is just a trick of the highlights on the roundness of her breast and the foreshortening of her body angle - looks totally fine, don't sweat it. If anything, I'd like to see some more depth of black, but that's just my personal tastes, not fault in the shots.
