These were taken off the Kolob Terrace Rd. in Zion N.P. at about 8000' elevation. The first photo shows the scrub oak thicket the deer were in where it was difficult to get a good photo. The big buck stayed deep in this thicket and wouldn't show himself well enough for me to get a good photo. There were three bucks and about a dozen doe's in the thicket that the rutting bucks were harassing. Went back two evenings later and caught the big buck in the open meadow. He is not a huge buck but a very nice 3x4. Notice the thick neck of this rutting buck!
