This is a local house that has been abandoned for decades - a real shame since in its day it was the home of prosperous farmers.
Good work, sad story, Sue!

Nice place, a fixer upper for the craftsman - spacious living, is well ventilated, and is naturally shaded - good starter home...

If those walls could only talk what a story they could tell.

I know! I would have loved to walk around inside of that house but apart from the obvious "No Trespassing" sign, the place is dangerous. It was a very substantial place in its day.
Nicely done! I love to photograph old abandoned buildings such as those.
So sad to see a place like that fall into ruin. Nice job of documenting it.

Nice set Sue. It's a shame it's left to decay.

Sue, it is a shame and it also looks like there are items left inside. I love the set of photos.

Thanks for all the nice comments. It seems as if abandoned houses are magnets for discarded junk - the rooms that I could see through the windows were filled with stuff that obviously wasn't originally there. Years ago my husband and I explored an old house and found newspapers dating to the great crash of 1929 in its attic - we still have several of them.
The more I look at that first shot the less I like it - the pole with the "No Trespassing" sign is poorly positioned, cutting the image in half. Here's a better one of the front of the house.
Such a lovely house. And so large! Nicely done.
