I have a couple of cameras with GPS but haven't used it much because of battery drain. However, I was in Israel last year and took lots of photos on different trips around the country. When I got back, I was sometimes confused about where shots were taken, though I could get somewhat close by using the date. It turns out I also took quite a few pictures from the vans I was in with my iphone. The iphone pictures were geotagged, which in the end let me place most of the photos I had taken with the 5dmkiv. Since batterly life isn't that bad with the camera and I had plenty of batteries, I later wished I had used it. I like the idea of carrying a separate geotagger that is synced to the clock of the camera. That way one doesn't have to worry about battery life. I also have use the GPS in the phone and car to get the coordinates for places I want to go back to in different lighting situations in the US. It is one of those things, that I wouldn't chose a phone or a camera on the basis of whether or not it had GPS, but it was wonderful having those geotagged images later when I was trying to figure out on a map the various places I had visited and what pictures I took in what places.
Yep, when entering a big building I typically make sure I've taken a shot of the exterior first, so that I'll have a good reference location.
Although my cameras have GPS capability, I don't use it because of the battery drain. My normal routine is to rename my photos with the location. I also use my calendar to keep track of my general location each day. I do not think knowing my exact location is worth the battery drain unless the exact location is important. So far since digital cameras were invented, I have not wished I had an exact location for every photo.
I have been a photographer for 70 years and have not missed having GPS in my travel photography. If needed I would use my phone to record GPS and a photo of the location. haven't seen the need so far.

I geotag all my photographs and have done so for many years, it gives me satisfaction to see where exactly they were taken, and they can be opened up in most map applications.
Likewise. I am a poor note taker when traveling, and this is one way to reconstruct a 60 day trip after the fact.

I don't use it at all, but I suspect many do.

I don't but will take pictures of signs as road intersections etc.
I don't have, want or use it.
I do contract work for a company that requires it. I bought a used D5300 just for them as it was the only Nikon I could find that had GPS.

You can't other than maybe sending a message to the admin requesting it to be removed.
You can change the contents within the allotted time frame though.
It happens occasionally - twitchy mouse finger.

That is a bit condescending to the folks who have a legitimate reason for geotagging. Of course, you may have been kidding, right?
I have been using the GPS feature of my 6D ever since I bought it when it first came out. I absolutely love this feature. Especially coupled with the map module within Lightroom. It shows every place I have taken pictures as well as how many for the location and the photos themselves. It is sometimes difficult to remember the exact location of a photo, but with GPS, there is never a doubt. Love it, Love it, Love it!
I just wish my Sony 7RII had GPS
