Might the videos have gone into iMovie?

Most cameras put the video clips in a different folder than photos on SD cards. So, if your ipad is looking in a photo folder for photos, it won't see video clips.

What size is your SD card? One that is recommended is SanDisk Extreme Pro 64 GB 95/mbs. Surely your manual has minimum requirements listed. Get your manual and start on page 43.

That has absolutely nothing to do with the pictures but not the videos showing up on the computer.

This has absolutely nothing to do with the OP's post.

Look in your Apple "Photos" app and navigate to "videos" as opposed to photos. It's a separate album. Hope this helps.

Gee, that's odd. I just read 14 responses to this same problem on DPreview and EVERY ONE OF THEM said to change the SD card. Strange.

Odd or not, when I shoot video and download it to my MacBook Pro, it goes to an album *within* Photos named "Videos." I think the OP would have noticed during his image capturing that his camera was struggling if he were using a sub-class or too-slow card.

On Sony the images and videos are in different folders on the SD card. The SD card reader is probably only finding the photo images. I have a 6500 and it is what happens.

Should I try a different card reader?

I will check mine later today and see what it is doing with videos. I also have a couple of card readers and will try them. Which iPad do you have? Not that it should matter other than the Pro I think reads faster.

Actually, what I have been doing lately is transferring direct wirelessly from my 6500 to the iPad using the Sony app PlayMemories Mobile. At the end of every day of shooting I just transfer a 2mb jpg for the iPad and social media. I shoot RAW and JPG together so then later I transfer the RAW files to my computer at home for processing with Lightroom.
