There sure is a lot going on is this shot Voss. Once I got past the people, I was curious about the storefront. There are Christmas lights, but the front could use a little paint, and what is that thing in the upstairs window? It is either a massive phone charger station, or something used to contact aliens. There is something oddly depressing about this scene.

I'd say you were right about it seeming depressing. No one is smiling here. The thing in the window looks like a reflection, but I have no idea of what. You see Christmas lights being used as decorations more in Hispanic areas, but this is not one of them (it's downtown Austin, Texas). And this shot was taken this past September. But what's most interesting is that there was a festival going on outside the camera's view. I guess just chalk it up to a momentary slice of life.

I think they are a couple. Notice they both are looking at the black guy and apparently are awaiting a reply. The gent on the right appears to be just hanging out. It makes for an interesting shot with opprotunity for several different interpretations. Street photography at its best. Kudos Voss.
