Apple Mojave operating system.

Just an update. After spending almost a solid week and a half on the phone with Apple technicians, and two days at the apple Genius Bar and getting absolutely nowhere, I went to a private apple dealer/repair store, and THEY went to the root of the program. Mojave was not comparable with my operating system and email carrier. They did a total number on my computer and wiped it clean and reinstalled High Sierra and now it is working like a champ!!! (And THEY guaranteed my comp would work.)
Just thought I would let everyone know.

P. S. At the apple store, one of the genius's told me it was an "environmental" problem, but wouldn't or couldn't tell me what environmental meant.
What computer are you using?

That's bad news - on several fronts. I'm sticking with Sierra.

Believe me jerry, you are doing the right thing. I am not saying Mojave will corrupt ALL apple products...it just corrupted mine, and a few others. The operating system is toooo new. With all the aggravation I suffered, my wife was afraid I would have another heart attack. Now that I am back with High Sierra, I'm happy again. Oh, and Apple also told me if I went back to High Sierra, they, at apple would not assist me in any way shape or form, again if my computer pooped out.

The question is what will you do at the end of 2019 when Apple (as announced) will no longer support 32 bit software and only support 64 bit software. You will have a permanent old machine incapable of supporting some of the new features. I upgraded to Mojave on a 2014 Macbook Pro and my 2015 iMac desktop without any issues. I am not sure what the OP issues were and why Mojave would not take on his machine. Before I upgraded I did a full maintenance and backed up the PC to an external drive then I installed Mojave.

I think you may find that your processor could over heat if you managed to use Mojave
This is something Apple are working on for older equipment
I have also had problems with Mojave that Apple techs could not explain. I have two external drives both formatted to exFAT so I can use them with both my iMAC and Windows computers. This worked fine with Sierra, but with Mojave I cannot save to them with the iMAC. The MAC recognizes them only as Windows formatted drives (not exFAT as formatted). This seems like a bug in Mojave. It has been a big chore to move files around and save them to MAC formatted drives, so I can get operational again. If anyone has experience with Mojave and the exFAT disk format, I’d like to hear about it. Thanks.
All my software seems to work with Mojave but my computer seems to take longer to boot up (still faster than a PC, though). I'm always concerned that if I don't do the latest update, I won't have the latest virus and spam protections which, I assume, are rolled into the updates. However, if it weren't for that, I would have stuck with Sierra.
I updated my mid 2015 15 inch laptop as well as my 27 inch desktop with no issues. There is an update to Mojave that I installed right away. My husband has an older 13 inch laptop (probably 2011 version) that he updated to Mojave and the update with no problems. I backed up my files prior to the update.
It's very frustrating to run into operating system problems- I'm glad we did not have problems. I can't imagine having to work out any issues like the poster and others have had to do.

too bad, sorry to hear. i have a 2016 MacBook Pro, no problems with photos or Luminar thus far...
I have an early 2011 MacBook Pro, when I tried to upgrade to Mojave the Apple site told me my machine was not compatible for the new OS. Wouldn’t even let me download it to try the install.
My Mac is a late 2009 model. has worked like a charm for me. but it won't handle Mojave. guess I'll have to start a new Mac fund in my piggy bank. And the old one works fine. what a shame.
No trouble with my update.
Dave.
I have a tech team several MacBook Air which are not compatible. It works on Mid 2012 or newer only. This is why if you search you'll find MacBook Air refurbished unit selling for as little as $500 in good condition. I've updated my MacBook Pro Mid 2015 and Mojave works great with lots of nice features.
