Tamron 70-200 G2 focusing problem

Hi everyone,I just recently bought the tamron 70-200 f2.8 sp G2 lens, bought it new from Best Buy ,I’m using single focus mode ,for example I’m taking a full body picture, focus point in the face and the pictures came out totally out of focus ,I realized that the lens was focusing a little back of the subject because of the grass on the floor was very sharp ,I did some af tune on the camera and I went all the way to -20,that’s the limit on the scale, with that af tune the problem is less noticeable but for example if I focus on the eyes ,they are sharp but I can notice that the sharper zone is in the necklace or the shoulders,I don’t know if there is something else I can do to fix this problem, very frustrated,I appreciate any help ,thanks 👍🏻

you can easily tune the lens itself at 4 different focal lengths via the Tamron Tap-in Console

Have 5 Tamron prime and zooms along with their Tap-In. A couple of the lenses were fine out of the box. I was able to make some significant improvements with tuning on the others. The 70-200 required a significant amount of work, but once I had it locked in - wow! Below are examples of before and after AF tuning a 150-600mm G2 at infinity.

Do you have any pearls to pls share on this process. Many blogs tend to discourage one doing this, but I’d luv to hear about your success.

What about contacting Tamron? If the lens needs adjustments and it is a brand new lens if I were you I would ask them to make the corrections.

Thanks everyone for your help,10 minutes ago I was at a Nikon certified repair store for a lens calibration and they weren’t able to calibrate it properly, they told me to send it back and get another one,so that’s what I’m going to do,just praying not to get any other surprise with the other one ,so disappointed with tamron so far ,have a great day
