Decided to go bit off track while on 23 day trip to Oregon Coast and back and check this out after bit of advise while getting new tires on car just after entering Oregon. "Very bright sun", striking powder blue ash that fossils from about 25 million years ago are located in, also awesome colored hills which we did not see all of. Very nice Visitor Center there too.
Very nice. We visited there a number of time when we lived in Idaho. I had to chuckle because I have a picture of almost that same exact scene in that first picture. The John Day Fossil Beds is a bit out of the way, but well worth the side trip of U.S. Hwy 26. Thanks for sharing those. Brings back some fun memories.
Definitely something different.
Glad that you left the coast and checked out the interior of our state. I hope that you stopped at the Painted Hills when you were in the John Day area.
I believe every place has points of beauty. We just need to seek it out and have the vision to capture it.
