The blue wave just turned out to be a healthy swell...
Losing the house at midterms generally happens in a president's first term. I would hardly call that an ass kicking to Trump.
A blue wave would not have lost seats in the Senate and would have flipped more governorships.
So with an expected blue wave arriving only as some swell and chop, perhaps it was a minor success...
