The part I hate is having to stay up until 2AM to change the clocks. Couldn't they have put the changeover at a decent hour? :-0

Here in California, there's a measure (Proposition 7) on the ballot to extend Daylight Saving Time to the entire year. (Well, actually, it won't do that. It just authorizes the CA legislature to ask the U.S. Congress and President to extend DST in CA to year-round. Ain't no way Congress and President will do that. Even so, I'm voting the measure.)

Why not do it all year. AZ does not do it at all, the Navajos do it so part of the state has it and part doesn't. Does congress have to approve it? I don't see why as it appears to be optional.

Along with AZ, Hawaii doesn't change their clocks either. The whole country should follow suit. No reason for it at all IMO.

According to my wife you can blame the germans for DST. A phamplet came out in 1907 want the German govt to authorize DST, it didn't get approved until WWI then other countries followed with the US being the last to adopt it. I am here believe that the US congress has to approve the change since it was congress that approved the change for the US during WWI.

Why? DST is designed to give daylight to the morning hours in winter when kids are catching busses early in the morning. Why would CA need it all year? It would shorten the evenings in the summer. Do you really need the sun to come up at 4 a.m.?

The time needs to stay on standard time all year. It is a pain to change the clocks not to mention my sleep. I get acustom to one time change then it changes again and have to do it all over again.

California has an initiative on the midterm ballot to go to Daylight time all year. Sort of the opposite of Arizona and the half of Indiana which used to be on standard time all year until 2006. Problem is, even if it passes, California will have to get permission from the Federal government to do this.

Florida already passed year round daylight savings.
Here is a discussion on CA and FL.

And look what you started - an image that was meant in good humor(not the kind one eats) becomes (again) a bitching stage. Happens twice a year, right?
Some things just never mature or fade.

No wonder the ancients abandoned the site, too much work twice a year.
