What a beautiful native tree to have in a former forest of Oaks.

Very beautiful downloads, Ron and we used to have four or five of them but unfortunately, we just had to have the last remaining two taken down this summer as they had deteriorated to the point of being dangerous. Ours never seemed to have the beautiful fall foliage like yours, possibly because they were in a dry section of the yard between two driveways, but always seemed to be about the first to leaf out in the spring and also the first to drop their leaves in the fall! I have a posting of our last two in my topics titled "a visit from two families of woodpeckers" if you care to take a look! Take care!

Are you sure that’s a black walnut? it looks absolutely nothing like the black walnut trees here in Indiana (I have a yard full of them)--the shape of the tree, the shape of the leaves, the color of the leaves, nothing.

It’s certainly a beautiful tree, though.

As Texans are wont to say "Texas is a whole nother country". Maybe it's just a whole nother Black Walnut?
